It has been a great blessing to be able to reach out to the CLC for help on a wide range of issues I have faced. These have ranged from questions about the development of school dress and code of conduct policies, to dealing with complaints being laid at the South African Human Rights Commission.
The team are friendly, approachable, highly competent and professional. They have worked diligently and timeously on all our projects and have not been afraid to consult widely when required to do so. This has given us detailed and realistic positions to address the questions we have been faced with.
Our shared foundational Christian worldview has meant that we have been aligned around the core principles related to the issues and have been able to position our responses to ensure that these principles are honoured. This is something that I have struggled with previously when working with purely secular legal colleagues or associations. The CLC's extensive experience in these areas is very apparent and we have been able to use the opportunities for legal engagement to proclaim the message of Christ in South Africa.
The CLC team have been fully invested in achieving the best and wisest outcome in each of our engagements and I have found working with their team to be a great reassurance and blessing to me.

My experience with the Christian Legal Centre
It is clear that the CLC was a lifesaver in our case. Here is a summary of the key points about their support:
• Immediate and unconditional support: They approached me when my employer failed to provide support and were immediately willing to help free of charge.
• Focus on principles and values: They saw the case as a watershed for education in South Africa, with a focus on conservative community values and Christian principles.
• Professional and knowledgeable team: The team, including a senior advocate, was extremely professional, knowledgeable and familiar with global trends and court cases regarding unfair discrimination.
• Thorough and comprehensive approach: They thoroughly investigated the case and left no stone unturned to assist us.
• Ongoing communication and follow-up: We were kept informed regularly and the team acted seriously, promptly and according to best practice guidelines.
• Emotional and professional safety: We did not feel that we were at the mercy of unfair treatment at any time, which is especially important when one has little professional knowledge of legal matters.
• Long-term commitment: Even after two years, they are still committed and supportive.
The impact of this case
This case is not only important to us personally, but also has broad implications for education in South Africa:
• Precedent setting: This is a watershed case. The outcome is likely to set an important precedent for how similar cases are handled in the future within the South African education system.
• Protection of values: This confirms the importance of upholding certain principles and values in education, especially when they clash with new social trends.
• Employer responsibility: Our experience highlights the shortcomings in support that teachers sometimes receive from state institutions, and the need for employers to protect their employees.
It is inspiring to hear how an organisation like the Christian Legal Centre is making a difference by supporting individuals who stand up for justice and values. Our testimony is a powerful endorsement of their work.

Doctor
I am a Christian medical doctor who sought assistance from the Christian Legal Centre in 2025. I was reported twice to a statutory regulatory body that governs the medical profession. The two complaints were submitted by similar LGBTQIA+ activist organizations. The medical advocacy work I am involved in is to highlight the importance of an evidence based, medical approach to clinical care for children experiencing gender distress. Despite the fact that the South African Constitution enshrines the right to freedom of religion in our country, these activist organizations are attempting to bully and intimidate anyone pointing out lacking evidence of benefit and evidence of harm of “general affirming care”, especially if motivated by Christian faith, including love and concern for one’s fellow man.
Recently a similar complaint was submitted against me and two medical colleagues to the Human Rights Commission alleging that we were guilty of harming the human rights of transgender people and of propagating “hate speech”.
I received wonderful support in responding to the HPCSA complaints from CLC practitioners. This has been a very stressful experience in a professional career of several decades and the supportive professional assistance I experienced from the CLC made the whole difficult experience more bearable. The practitioners I worked with was responsive, communicative and drafted excellent responses to the HPCSA complaints. The result so far is that I was found not guilty of any professional misconduct in the first complaint –which is a great relief.
CLC practitioners are currently assisting me with responding to the Human Rights Commission complaint.
I am very grateful and appreciative for the excellent help and assistance from the CLC practitioners thus far, and I am optimistic and hopeful that the remaining legal challenges will also have a positive outcome.

Therapist
The first thing CLC did when I met them, was pray with me for my case... which is rare in this world today.
Throughout my case (where I had to defend a social media statement I made against transgender ideology in clinical therapy), I constantly received updates and communication from the legal practitioners and it made me feel very safe and secure. They always replied to questions I had and explained difficult legal things in a way I could understand them.
The outcome of my case was positive although it could have been the opposite. I can now move on with my life but will always be thankful towards God who guided me to the CLC. I am thankful that they always respected me and listened to my thoughts and asked if I was happy with their legal responses to the tribunal. It was teamwork although they gently took the lead.
Their work ethic, skillset and integrity are outstanding and I will always recommend them. They somehow manage to win cases without compromising on their beliefs.
